How to Get Started

Planning and Design

We start every cabling project by pairing your business’s needs with a cabling plan that ties those needs together with a well-engineered cabling route. We look at every aspect of your business and use this information to customize your cabling options. Then, we’ll develop a cabling plan that helps you avoid extra cabling costs, builds a reliable system and ensures long-term performance.

Let’s set up a consultation and site visit. Our system designers will evaluate your building’s layout, construction materials, equipment locations and existing infrastructure, so the cabling installation will go smoothly. We’ll identify potential challenges such as limited conduit space, so we can determine the best cable pathways, equipment room locations, and how to optimize your system layout. We’ll also review all necessary documents which include architectural drawings, engineering plans, floor plans, and renovation plans.

Then, we’ll plan together. We’ll work closely with you to define your system goals and requirements. Our designers will explain how the cabling system will operate and simplify the technology, so you can decide if it fits your needs or not. We’ll consider all the systems your business depends on (voice & data, audio visual, structured cabling, security systems, etc). Finally, we’ll make your plan future-proof, so your business can grow with ease.

Once the plan is finalized, we’ll get to work. Our team will save you from the headache of working with different contractors and trades. Our capable technicians and programmers will take your plan and vision and turn it into a clean, organized cabling network that is ready for your devices and applications.

Rough In, and Pre-Wire

During your prewire and rough in phase, we’ll start by determining where devices, power, camera, wireless access points, and other technology equipment will go. We’ll make sure all your cable pathways and drop points are identified beforehand, so all equipment will be located in the right places. Once the framing goes in, our techs will install brackets, wall plates, and all necessary mounting hardware for your cables. Then, our team of capable technicians will start running your cables in the most efficient cabling routes using conduit, J-hooks and cable ties to keep the cables neat and organized. Depending on your business needs, we’ll run the following cables to support your system:

  • Category 6 or Category 6A network cabling

  • Fiber optic cabling

  • Coaxial cable

  • Access control wiring

  • Audio visual cabling

  • Intrusion detection wiring

  • Automation and control cables

During the prewire phase, we’ll leave plenty of slack for final termination. Then, our technicians will test each cable and label them for the trim out phase of the project. After this work is completed, your cables are ready to pass inspection.

Trim Out and Testing

Once the prewire and rough-in stages are completed, we prepare the cables for equipment installation. We’ll terminate all the cables according to industry standards. Networking cables are terminated at patch panels, keystone jacks, and wall outlets. In server and rack rooms, your cables will be organized and secured with a rack for an elegant look. After termination, our technicians will test your wiring to make sure it is terminated properly.

Equipment Installation and Programming

The most exciting part of the project is when the doors are open and customers start coming in, But, to get to that point, and have your business flowing smoothly, one of the most critical steps is planning. Our installation practices ensure that the wiring is installed safely, meets the local building codes, is certified by required manufactures and meets specific objectives and specifications of your business. We understand that not everyone enjoys seeing the technology in a building. We do our best to make sure the technology is discrete.

We chose industry top brand equipment to ensure reliability and performance for your system. We will help you choose the best equipment for your installation so that it is easy to use and easy to maintain.
